Create a Transactional Function

Once the Sub System has been created a Transactional Function and a Data Function can be created as well.

You must have a Function Point Modeler diagram open. By default, the Palette view opens when you are editing Function Point Modeler Diagram file in Function Point Modeler.

To create a Transactional Function:

  1. Click FPM Notes drawer in the Palette view. The drawer expands and displays a list of items (Applicationsystem, Subsyste, TransactionalFunction, DataFunction and Actor) that you can drag and drop onto the Function Point Modeler Diagram.
  2. Drag an TransactionalFunction item from a drawer to the desired place in "TransactionFunctions" compartment (upper) of the Sub System. ( an empty space inside in the "TransactionFunctions" compartment) in Function Point Modeler diagram. (You can also click a location on the page, and then click on an item in the drawer.) Make sure that you drag and drop appropriate items onto a diagram. For example, you can not dropTransactionalFunctionitem in the "DataFunctions" compartment (below) diagram.
  3. A new Transactional Function is created and displayed in the diagram with the name Transactional Function.
  4. Once theTransactional Function appears on the diagram, you can usually set some attributes for it in the Properties view or you can click the attribut of the Transactional Function to set its value. Type a desired name for the Transactional Function and press Enter.
